Regular visitors to exhibitions and galleries do not expect to find ready feedback and aspects of immediate, simple reading in Stefano Rambaldi's material papers.
In following natural references, traces recalling unforgettable journeys or pulsating memories of ancient geologies, the secluded artist (his works rarely enter exhibition circuits) can entitle research and emotions in the most accessible way.
On dark and/or gilded backgrounds, the imaginative diagrams, the sensitive ramifications, the plans, the volumes of an imaginative neo-cubism can be defined, according to their Author, as places of entertainment, wheat fields, insular plans.
But it matters little if in the elaborate composition of silvered sheets, waxes, anilines, inks, a common figurative legibility can escape, if memories of the East follow one another like relived theories of tonal chords on the bottom of a synthesized dome, if the watercolor tiles on the the roughness of a thick surface becomes mobile expressiveness of an unusual abstract geometry.
Instead, in Stefano Rambaldi's silent work, what is interesting is the achieved plastic and chromatic balance that accompanies the forms, which identifies the paths of an in-depth, inexhaustible, always coherent investigation.
In the studied, meditated papers, mostly large in size, the resolution of an intimate interiority and with the progression of reflective handwriting, a mysterious proposal of modulated reliefs, the sober, absorbed vital essentiality of the colours.
